Artsea Photographics is the compilation of images rendered in the later days of film, digitally reproduced and now digitally captured images. These images are from the many years spent on the sea and surrounding waterways. Recently, digital cameras have been incorporated into my photography so I will be able to add images at more convienience.  Hi...my name is Les Nagy.  I have been a commercial waterman for most of my adult life. During this time spent on the water, I took a huge interest in the world of photography.

After several years of formal training, my camera captured many sights surrounding me on the sea and maritime environment. These frozen moments in time spurred on the vision of an online gallery; which you now view. I would like to offer you some of the many images which I have been fortunate enough to record. I hope that you enjoy these images as much as I did photographing them.

A BIG Thank You goes out in advance for visiting this site. (((Please do book mark this page and make a return trip to view some more new images and thoughts. As I mentioned, now that digital images have become closer to their film predecessor, digital images will be added. The photo of myself was taken by a fellow crew member as we head into Gloucester, Mass. to pack out our closed area scallop trip. It was a good day, July 3, '07. We completed this trip in record time, 3 1/2 days fishing, 5 days altogether dock to dock!

Thanks to all the visitors returning to this page even though it hasnt been refreshed with new images in a while. Since many of my best maritime images are still in film format, I plan to have a negative scanner at my disposal in the future. As the camera evolved to a digital format and became better, so will the negative scanner. I have started to phase out the primative digital scanned prints from ealier, which will be replaced with pure digital imagery. Newer digital images are taken with the Canon EOS REBEL 300D and now the Canon 30D. Digital imagery is a far cry from film in handling and ease of use. The Darkroom can nowadays be compared to the dark ages of imagery, lol.

Thank you again for being so patient and for returning to check on this site for more new images. All along this has been a professional hobby, meaning that there are some prints available for sale. Most importantly, they are here for visual appreciation. In effect, this is a show case of sorts. Enjoy!
